Cube Gallery
YUKIO OGUSHI’s Statement
I visited Saigon 60 times from 1990, and concerned the art scene of Saigon. I was fascinated by the forcefully graceful Vietnamese contemporary painting and sympathized with the passionate life of Vietnamese artists.
I deepened the friendship with Tu Do Art Gallery and artists (Le Thanh Thu, Uyen Huy, La Hon, Hua Tanh Binh, and Diep Minh Chau, past president of Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Association), and learned about the culture and history of Vietnam. Every time I visited Saigon, I collected one after another favorite work.
Now I already passed 70 years old. I needed to decide what to do with my collection.I thought that it is the best way that I return my collection to Saigon I loved.I donate the collection to Ho Chi Minh Fine Art Museum with the gratitude. Thank you very much.
